Rob Allgeyer is among a small group of musicians who believes in playing music people of all ages and musical backgrounds can appreciate.
In 1993, Rob entered the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music (C.C.M.) and for the next four years was one of their most in demand pianists. Rob was part of the Jazz Ensemble, as well as the featured pianist in many student recitals and on several CD’s produced by the College. While at C.C.M., Rob landed a steady gig on Monday and Tuesday nights at the Dee Felice Café in Covington. While there, he developed a style and repertoire that kept people coming back again and again.
Since then he has played regular engagements at The Blue Wisp Jazz Club, Simone’s, The Netherland Hilton, and Jeff Ruby’s Steak House in Cincinnati, One in Mason, Chez Nora in Covington, Pacchia’s in Dayton, and The Jazz Factory in Louisville. The Rob Allgeyer Trio opened Glendale’s Iron Horse Inn in 1996 and for the next six years he served there in several capacities - as leader of the “house” trio (for four years), solo pianist, and he booked music for special events and weekends. In addition to performing at clubs and concert venues around the Tri-state area, The Rob Allgeyer Trio and Quartet have recently performed live concerts on WVXU 91.7 FM in Cincinnati and on WFPK 91.9 FM in Louisville.
As a teacher, Rob has shared his knowledge and inspired students of jazz at the College Conservatory of Music Prep Department, The School of Creative and Performing Arts (Cincinnati Public Schools) and the Glendale Music Academy. He is currently focusing on his own teaching studio in Glendale and has students – adolescents to adults – throughout Greater Cincinnati.
Over the past two years, Rob has performed concerts at Indiana State University, Ball State University, Ohio University, Indiana Wesleyan University, University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music, Hanover College, Lyndsey Wilson College, Berea College, and has served as an Artist-in-Residence at Purdue University.
